Our first call out on GB1FAS will occur between 09:00 and 09:30 UTC, and will continue with a variety of our Cub Scouts until tea time. In total 16 Cub Scouts, both male and female aged between 8 and 10.5yrs will have the opportunity to make contact with someone on the various radios that we’ll have availble to us.
We’ll be working across HF (pure RF), VHF (pure RF), UHF (Allstar/Hubnet), as well as on DMR (JOTA talk group) so keep your ears open, and drop us a hello!
1st Abram Scout Group, first established September 1931, moved into their current premises in 1962. The building was originally built as a Sanitorium to serve the local community, and first opened on 2nd November 1904.
during the event, we’ll upload pictures to this gallery, from both JOTA and it’s sister JOTI (Jamboree on the Internet).
Did you make contact with us? Find your pin on our interactive map!
Our distance radio will use HF, so we need to hope for better conditions on HF – the better those conditions, the further we can get through something called ‘Propogation’, in which we can bounce our radio signals off the Ionosphere.
