As we all wait, with baited breath for news from the Government as to when certain service can resume, it’s important to take a moment to remind where our call to resume will come from.

Although some news outlets are reporting that the Government will announce that some children’s service may resume on 8th March, this doesn’t automatically allow Scouting to resume.

Information from the Government’s roadmap today will be taken by the National Youth Agency, and clarified where neccessary before deciding where on the COVID Readiness Framework we can move and when.

NYA will then feed that information through the The Scouts UK (HQ). The Scouts UK will then apply that information within our own framework and feed that through to the relevant regions/counties/districts.

Those regions/counties/districts will then issue instructions as to what can be done under the framework readiness level, to groups, where the section leaders make the final decision whether to proceed to re-open their section or not.

All this said, positive news is positive news and indicates a step closer to reopening and returning to some form of normality, hopefully with more permanence. We will, of course, keep this site updated with relevant news as it comes in.

Keep your fingers crossed everyone!
