This week we’ve seen all three sections make their return to Virtual Scouting.

Naturally, Virtual Scouting is not the ideal situation for our group, and we recognise that some members may be uncomfortable with Video Conferencing, but we’d urge everyone to give it a go. We need a camera on only at the start of the session, but it’s great to use them for interaction with eachother.

It’s important to remember the base rules for Virtual Scouting via Zoom.

  • Ensure that you participate in a ‘public’ area of your home, where the is at least one adult within earshot.
  • Ensure that you are fully clothed in appropriate clothing (this may be uniform, if your section leader has requested it).
  • Join in, and contribute!
  • If you’re not going to be there, let your section leader know, just as you would face to face.

Although you are now in your house, we are still Scouting, so we need to follow our respective laws and promises, always try our best, and use this as an opportunity to practice being the best Scout that you can be.

Remember too, that Scouting resources are online 24x7x365 – From ScoutLink IRC Chat, to Minecraft, there’s always something that you can sink your teeth into, and develop international relations with other Scouts around the world!

We’ll keep you updated as situations change with Covid-19, and will always update this site with any Scouting news as we hear it!

Take care, stay safe, and see you soon!
